LONGSWORDS

Founded in 2004 and based in Taunton, Somerset; Taunton Longsword Association (TLA) is a club that researches, interprets, and trains members in Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). Taunton Longsword Association is a friendly club with a diverse membership from a range of backgrounds.

POSITIVE PEOPLE

By June 2023 ‘Positive People’ will have aimed to help over 2,079 individuals who have been out of work to build their confidence and develop their skills.

This programme is personally tailored to individual needs and will include help with personal development, health and wellbeing, and to develop life-skills including digital technology.
Partners began to deliver the £8 million programme (approx) in March 2017 and will deliver the project until June 2023. Available to anybody not in employment, aged 18+.

MIND COMMUNITY DAY

We offer a diverse variety of multifunctional programs which include the needed set of features and support services to help you deal with your issue.
Is for anyone experiencing poor mental health who would benefit from attending and participating in group activities. This is where people can socialise with others who may be in a similar situation to them, access guidance, reassurance, support and be involved in fun activities. Different activities are available in each week and these include board games, Boccia, creative arts and crafts, listening to music and soup making. People are not obliged to join in and are most welcome to bring their own creative activities along. 
MIND’s helpful and friendly Support Workers are available on the day to offer emotional support and information regarding our services, plus signposting to other services.  
You don’t need to be referred to MIND’s Community Day or make an appointment – you can just turn up.

ROYAL MENCAP SOCIETY

Employ Me Taunton is funded by Youth Futures Foundation an independent, not-for-profit organisation established by the Reclaim Fund to tackle youth unemployment.

Supporting young people with learning disabilities and autism. Mencap provide free programmes to support young people towards work, lasting either 13 or 26 weeks, depending on the needs and experience of the individual.

The programme offers a range of workshops in CV writing, skills development, confidence building and work experience

CHARD WATCH PROJECT

Chard WATCH reaches out and engages with isolated adults needing support. Chard WATCH give members an elevated sense of confidence and empowerment by enabling them to take their own positive steps. 
Change comes from within and we help people fulfil their potential through workshops and activities like: art, reading, drama, personal awareness courses, IT and most importantly peer relationships. 
Chard WATCH courses are designed to suit people who might find a college or evening class difficult.
